🧠 new year, same mission: Better Brain

Hi,

Happy New Year. I disappeared for a bit (last proper issue was around November-ish)… but i’m back.

If you’re new here: i’m Ernest, a computer science student. A while back my brain felt broken - constant fog, couldn’t focus, tired all the time, forgetting everything. That “i know i’m not dumb… so what’s wrong?” feeling. So i went all in, read studies, tested habits, systems, sleep fixes, supplements… basically experimented on myself. now i share what actually worked here with you.

This year I’m keeping it simple:

What you’ll get (1x/week, every Sunday, 5-min read):

  • real brain tactics you can actually use (not “wake up at 5am and be a god”), focus, memory, brain fog, mental clarity, learning faster, all that

  • new research + brain & psychology news, broken down into normal human language (no PhD required)

  • brain health for the long game - how to keep your brain sharp as you age, lower dementia / Alzheimer’s risk, and stop believing dumb myths about memory and aging

  • habits that actually stick (systems > motivation), why motivation fails biologically, and how to build routines that don’t fall apart after 3 days

  • psychology & mental health stuff - anxiety, ADHD, stress, behavior patterns, emotional regulation, why your brain reacts the way it does in real life

  • supplements / nootropics + brain nutrition with the “ok but does this actually work?” filter - human evidence, ingredient breakdowns, hype vs reality

  • resources - checklists, cheatsheets, docs, tools, links, products, books, etc.

  • and the occasional quick experiment i’m testing on myself

No spam, no bs. If it’s not useful, i won’t send it.

I don’t share vague “just be disciplined” advice. And if i mention something, i try to back it up with proof - real research, human trials, my own experiments, or patterns I’ve seen across tons of people’s experiences.

I dig deep, pull out the good stuff, and send you specific, actionable ideas you can actually use. The goal is for this to feel like a premium newsletter, not generic internet noise (you can get that on instagram, or whatever).

And if you’re not that into brain stuff (or you accidentally subscribed or something)… all good. Unsubscribe link is at the bottom. I’d rather keep the list tight with people who actually want to get sharper this year.

Stay tuned, I’ve got a lot to share this year. We’re upgrading brains and turning into Einsteins in 2026 .

Talk Sunday,
—Ernest

🙏 small ask

Can you REPLY and tell me your #1 problem right now…

brain fog / bad memory / can’t focus or concentrate / anxiety / ADHD-style chaos / sleep sucks / can’t stick with habits / psychological issues…

…that’s how past issues were shaped. I read every single reply, and keep them in a doc, so I can prioritize what to write based on what comes up most.

Sorry…

I’m not the best writer, and english isn’t my first language, so you’ll probably see grammar mistakes or sentences that are a bit off.

As long as you understand what I’m trying to say, that’s all that matters to me. I care way more about being useful than being perfect.

“Getting something done at 70 to 80 percent of perfection is better than the procrastinator who waits for perfection to act” (Look up “imperfect action”).

My only goal here is to give you as much value as possible, not to win a writing competition.

(still better than reading AI-generated fluff, right?:)
